The Bureau of Standards Citizen's Charter.

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN, STANDARDS COUNCIL

The Bureau of Standards commends the Government for its decision to have agencies serving the public, committing themselves to the provision of quality service through the implementation of Citizen's Charters.

Customers are guaranteed quality service, as one of the organization's strengths is its cadre of highly qualified professional and technical experts, who work in an environment where quality management systems and procedures are inherent.

As the national standards organization, our employees have always been encouraged that in fulfilling the mandate to promulgate standards, we are not confined to developing standards for others to use, but include standards for the quality of service we give. Such standards are reflected in a courteous, polite and helpful attitude to one another and in particular to the public we serve.

While we are pleased and are fairly satisfied with our achievements, in order to avoid complacency, we continue to design and participate in special courses on customer relations to avoid complacency.

We are proud to say the Bureau's effort has been recognized, as a large percentage of our customers continue to commend us for the satisfaction they derive in doing business with the organization.

While there are a few problems occurring occasionally, our commitment to serve the public will enable us to overcome these hurdles.
